I’m nothing if not a music lover…

I’m the kind of person who gets musically obsessed regularly. I will discover an album or a song and listen to it on repeat until I can’t bear to hear a single note of the said album for the next months (at least). Some artists are an exception to this rule: I’ve been listening to Queen since I was two, and will keep listening to it my whole life, Eric Clapton’s Unplugged album is and always will be the soundtrack of most of my rainy days, and the last but not least: Bon Iver.

Bon Iver - AKA Justin Vernon - released his first album in 2008, and since then I have loved and can’t seem to get tired of his music. It is filled with poetry, emotions, and melancholy.
Since 2008 JV has released 4 albums. During an interview for his last album, JV said that the cycle is over, his first album was written during a depression, since then the cycle has changed and reached its end.

I wanted to create around this cycle, to represent his music, what it creates within me. I wanted a tribute to his genius. I chose to represent each album by a season and each season by a book.
Each book is printed in monochrome, always a color that reminds me of the season it talks about. Half of each book is dedicated to the lyrics of the album, and the other half is an interview of JV after releasing each album. I dove into many archives and Images data set to illustrate each song.
